Raja The Great is a 2017 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film written and directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju on Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. The film stars Ravi Teja as a visually impaired man, alongside Mehreen Pirzada and Raadhika. Vivan Bhatena (in his Telugu Debut), Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj and Sampath Raj play supporting roles with music composed by Sai Karthik. The film marks the debut of Teja's son Mahadhan as child actor.

The film began its production began in April 2017 with filming taking place in Hyderabad and Darjeeling. Released worldwide on 18 October 2017, the film received mixed reviews from critics and audience with praise towards the cast performances, action sequences and entertainment value but criticism for writing and uneven tone. It was a commercial success grossing more than ₹50 crore, becoming the highest-grossing film in Teja's career.

Story line: The film is inspired by true events. An insightful story about the adverse effects of urbanization, man-animal conflict and poverty leading to a bizarre practice in a village that resides on the edge of a forest. In the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in U.P. near the Indo-Nepal border, there reside some poor farmers on the edge of the forest. Their fortunes depend heavily on the monsoons failing which they are doomed to abject poverty. To counter that, they indulge in an inhuman and tragic practice of sending the elderly to the forest to be killed by tigers and then later collecting their bodies, planting them in the fields and then claiming lakhs of rupees as compensation from the Government. The film revolves around Gangaram, who is a patriarch of a poor farmer family which is going through great hardships and poverty because of three consecutive failed monsoons. He decides he will not waste his death; he will adopt the infamous Tiger practice and will give up his life so that his family can have two square meals. One fine day, he enters the forests and waits for his death. What follows next is a series of unprecedented and interesting events. It takes great courage to sacrifice one’s life to save the family and the film revolves around this heroism with a focus on the man and nature conflict.

Plot: The story revolves around Krishna Pandit (Darshan Kumar), a JNU student, who thinks his parents were killed in an accident as told by his grandfather, Pushkar Nath (Anupam Kher). But the truth is more depressing. He is caught in the middle of two opposing narratives of the Kashmiri Pandit exodus of 1990. After Pushkar Naths death, Krishna goes back to Kashmir to fulfil his last wishes and also meets four of Naths friends, a journalist, a doctor, a former police officer, and a retired civil servant. They are shocked to know that Krishna didnt know the true story of his fathers death. The Kashmir Files then becomes a journey of discovering the truth for Krishna. In one among many traumatic scenes, Krishnas father, hiding in a container of rice, is killed by a local terrorist. His mother is forced to eat the blood-soaked rice from the same container.
